Dan Taberski is a documentary podcaster, writer, director, and producer. Taberski’s latest limited-run doc podcast series is Hysterical – produced with Wondery and Pineapple Street Studios, and which Apple named its 2024 Podcast of the Year.

Taberski’s first podcast series, 2017’s Missing Richard Simmons, was a breakout hit garnering millions of downloads and would later be named by Vulture as one of Ten Nonfiction Podcasts That Changed Everything. With Pineapple Street Studios, Taberski would go on to write and host the award-winning series Surviving Y2K, the Peabody-nominated Running from COPS, and 9/12, which won Podcast of the Year at the 2022 Ambie Awards. His series The Line, a collaboration with Alex Gibney’s Jigsaw Productions about the war crimes trial of Navy Seal Eddie Gallagher, received the Dupont/Columbia Journalism Award.

As a director, his documentary short These C*cksucking Tears won the jury prize at the SXSW film festival. As a television producer, he created hit kids show Destroy Build Destroy for Cartoon Network, and the absurd and appropriately short-lived crafting game show Craft Corner Deathmatch. Taberski is a former producer for The Daily Show w/Jon Stewart, and worked on economic policy in the Clinton White House. He’s also an accomplished quiltmaker (no seriously), working with the material from second-hand clothes bought by the pound at Goodwill.

He lives in NYC and Woodstock, NY.
